The content of our awareness is most often defined by the endless thoughts that chase each other through the caverns of our mind. By our teenage years those thoughts have become so dense and pressing that unstoppable thinking seems our only possible reality.
Yet every once in a while, luck will seemingly at random choose an individual and endow them with an unexpected gift.
That gift at first impacts the velocity of thoughts, slowing and separating them into individual entities that might be examined and seen for what they truly are. And as the distance between those thoughts widens and each thought becomes less insistent, less demanding, a space forms in which inner awareness awakens and joy blossoms.
This inner transformation might last for a minute, an hour, or even a day. In some rare cases where the individual is particularly attentive, it can expand to encompass an entire lifetime. In all cases, however, the interlude’s majesty and unbridled joy finds expression in the eyes, the face, the entire stance.
Strange as this state might seem in this frenetic day and age, it remains our collective birthright.
